STEP 1: AUDITION PREPARATION

Review the Character Breakdowns and think about which roles you might be interested in. (Character Breakdowns are listed on the upcoming audition page.)

You will need to sing 32 bars of an uptempo  song or 16 bars of a ballad. If you don't read music. This is a verse of the song and the chorus(the part that repeats the same words over several times in the song)
Choose the song you would like to sing.  NO POP TUNES!  Please choose Broadway show style  music or a Disney movie song.

Bring either sheet music marked for the part you will be singing

or a  CD or I-phone or other device to play your music.

Be sure the music doesn't have anyone else singing on it .

Karoake versions are available online to download. The studio has no wifi available so please download before you arrive.

Practice with your music.  Words should be memorized.

PREPARING TO AUDITION

Everyone who wants to be in the show must audition.  Don't worry The audition is set up to be a teaching form.  So if you've never done it we will show you how.  This is NOT a competition. It's a chance for you to sing for us and tell us about yourself. So we can get to know you and give you a part that that we think you'll be good in.

Remember we want to cast you but we can't if you do not audition.

GO-FAME offers an Audition Workshop . The class is Thursday, May 4th 6-7:30PM  at the GO-FAME Studio.  The cost is $10.

We will discuss auditioning for GO-FAME and other Theaters. We will learn a song we can use for next weeks audition.  Class fee includes handouts and instruction.

Parents welcome to stay for class. The  Director for Chitty CHITTY BANG BANG will be available for questions after the class.

 AUDITION DAY

All Auditioners will be called into the Studio at their appointment time. Up to 6 youth will be seen at a time. They will perform their song and talk to the director. They may read a short scene.  By the way we love jokes it's always good to prepare one to tell us.   After everyone in their group has gone they will be released with instructions regarding callbacks and more.

The cast list will be emailed at the end of the week. We ask you to send an email to either accept or decline your role. We will recast as necessary for any open roles.

Please Note:  We need a large cast for this show and we are auditioning for all parts but will only be casting to the needs of the show. This means we may not cast everyone who auditions.
