I am looking for an ensemble of only 15 people to play 92 parts though out the play. Creating the places our scenes travel to. We need vagrants, rich people, reporters, NYers, Hollywood types, seagulls, shark puppeteers, plants who come alive and dance, and more.
The ensemble makes the environment of the play come alive. They fill the space with each of the personalities they play. The Ensemble in some places gets a bad name because often they are made to feel they are less than people that are “leads”. Not at GO-FAME! We are all part of the ensemble that gathers to tell the story.
Dictionary .com defines an ensemble in theatre as “an approach to acting that aims for a unified effect achieved by all members of a cast working together on behalf of the play, rather than emphasizing individual performances.”
We choose shows that have our ensemble interacting in many scenes with the entire cast.
James and the Giant Peach is a great example of an ensemble piece!
You will be playing at least 4 different characters. Some with songs, some with dances, a few with lines. Each a defined person or animal with a different costume. Can you say quick change?
You are joining us with only four weeks left of rehearsal so we will need you to attend every rehearsal you are scheduled for.
